Teens at Greater Olney combined their passions for social media and social change, integrating the graphic novel Maus: My Father Bleeds History with Instagram, Shusterman’s novel Bruiser with Twitter, and Andersen’s Chain Seeds of America with Snapchat. Their discussions centered around history, oppression, and freedom, which all culminated in a field trip to the Atwater Kent Museum.
